Personally I don't give a toss about the name, it's not the point. Between ProTools and Resolve, our compatible tech universe revolves around Apple. Many of us own our systems that do more than edit and Macs serve more purposes over more years than PCs for many of us. Why do we suffer it? I think that's a reasonable question.
AVID MAC VIRUS PROTECTION SOFTWARE
You should ask the question why do Avid produce software for Apple, not why we suffer it. Communication, clarity, and reasonable stability. If I'm paying a subscription or own a licence I expect a level of competence back. And you suggest avoiding Apple? Why? To make life easier for Avid? Let's just stick our heads in the sand shall we? No, I say Avid - pull your socks up and literally get with the program. Since the revised MacPro and the more accessible Silicon, they are rocketing ahead in chip performance. Apple - love them or loathe them - have made a concerted effort to reel back in the creative pros it's hermoaged to PCs a decade or more ago. Thank you for your detailed message Chris We do not ask for a day one release (as Chris says testing is crucial) but a little less time would be truly appreciate. I want to stay and edit with the software I love, so my and other editors interest is the same of the company and I'll wait for "the Avid" but I really really hope in a trend reversal for the future. Taking more than a year for a ROSETTA (not native, but emulate) compatibility is simply puzzling. M1 was brilliant, M1 Pro/Max is just teffic (as benchmarks says). The world is fast and none runs as Apple does. I understand what Chris'saying but I simply disagree with this way of thinking. I'm coming in this world now and I really can't understand some Avid's policies about trying to keep update. I used Resolve on it and it is just thrilling. Yet, I'm an Apple user too, so I try to keep up with Apple technology and I bought an M1 mini 16. I'm just so comfortable with it and I have all tools i need to be as fast as precise. So, my favourite editing software is Avid MC. Honestly, I don't like the way FCP works and I find Premiere so frustrating (I got rid of it after 2 weeks) and I think BMR is an interesting software but the edit page is just not ready. I'm just 22 years old but I've already tried almost all editing software (from FCP to MC, and also Resolve and Premiere). I speak as a young editor/assistant editor.
